The Futamura Group; established in Japan in 1950 & now a global operation of 6 manufacturing divisions serving customers around the world. Our facility in Tecumseh, KS is only a short drive from Topeka and Lawrence.

Futamura’s objective is to specialize in high added value products. Among these is NatureFlexTM , a biodegradable, compostable film produced in the Tecumseh, KS Cellophane plant. NatureFlexTM is based strongly on renewable resources and are fully certified to the European (EN13432) and American (ASTM D6400) norms for compostable packaging. Our products are shipped around the world and are utilized by major brands as well as specialized markets.

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining efficient operations of plant equipment including Boilers, HVAC, Compressed Air, Chilled Water and Electrical Infrastructure systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor basic repairs by company employees or external contractors for areas of responsibility
  • Approval and management of contractors performing work on related systems
  • Coordinate inspection processes for regulated systems with external agencies and contractors
  • Provide comprehensive reporting to the environmental health and safety team for compliance purposes
  • Responsible for ensuring proper permits and LOTO procedures for work in areas of responsibility
  • Entering and tracking of proper inventory of spare parts and completing purchase orders for needed inventory
  • Keep abreast of legislation covering the areas of responsibility
  • Other Duties as assigned.


Qualified candidates would ideally have at least 3 years’ experience in one of more of the following.  Training will be provided in areas where experience does not meet the standards below.

  • Accredited boiler maintenance operations training
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements for operating and maintaining boiler house equipment
  • Accredited refrigerant gas handling training (EPA 608 core, type 1&2)
  • Knowledge of OSHA & EPA requirements for operating and maintaining HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements for operating pressurized systems
  • Knowledge of High & Low Voltage Electrical Safety requirements and site policies
