Our Quality Control Technician tests and conducts analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality.

The Futamura Group was established in Japan in 1950 and is now a global operation specializing in high added value packaging products. Among these is NatureFlexTM, a biodegradable, compostable film based strongly on renewable resources.  We are working to reduce the use of plastics in your packaging to help minimize the enviornmental impacts for generations to come.  Our products are fully certified to the European (EN13432) and American (ASTM D6400) standards for compostable packaging. Our products are shipped around the world and utilized by major brands and specialized markets.

The manufacturing plant located in Tecumseh has been in operation for decades. Futamura USA took ownership in 2016 and has since invested millions in our people and the renovation and improvements of the facility. Duties include:

• Collects and records results of sampling and testing to maintain record of product quality. May be involved in the development of testing methods.
• Perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving in liaison with QC Supervisor.
• Performs audits of production processes and production employee quality inspections.
• Conduct visual inspection, measurements, tests and other lab-based testing to ensure manufacturing standards are met.
• Ensure that nonconforming material is identified and quarantined for management disposition.
• Assist supervisor and other designated company personnel with review and analyses of QC and production records
• Ability to monitor and cooperate with personnel from other departments running routine samples in the lab.
• Data Entry of all results and/or email to required departments
• Other duties as assigned

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• 1 to 3 years' experience in a product-quality role
• Maintain regular attendance
• The ability to think independently, while working within company structures and guidelines
• History of teamwork and cooperation
• Skilled in positions requiring attention to detail
